Warranty

Two year limited warranty - On all Andre Spearguns and trigger mechanisms. As of 2008, our new mechanisms have been retrofitted to fit most major brand of shafts. The mechanisms are made from 316 Stainless Steel with a wall thickness of 5mm and laser cut for the ultimate in precision firing. The maximum pound pull on the speargun is 770 pounds (or 350 kilos). To make the mechanism last longer & for safety it is recommended that the maximum number of powerbands is 5 (5/8") powerbands. If you desire a larger mechanism we can put one into your speargun.

The ability to try before you buy applies to much of what we purchase. Cars, TV’s, shoes, deli meat, cell phones shirts, writing pens, software and even wine. But when it comes to the single most important element in spearfishing- the speargun, test driving is all but foreign concept. Not anymore!

Matt Davidson of Blue Tuna Spearfishing is a setting a new standard of service by arranging in-pool target shooting sessions where potential buyers can get wet and sample his line of handmade Andre Spearguns. I met up with Matt at Ventura Dive n’ Sport, in Southern California to get a first hand display of the precise speargun accuracy he pitches.

As I arrived, a crowd of spectators overlooked the water in quiet suspense. Matt was fully submerged wearing long fins and green camouflaged wetsuit; carefully setting up a shot. Without warning, the power bands leapt forward and the spear shaft thrust across the pool towards a painted foam target. Cheers abound and comments of amazement were cast. For many onlookers, this was their first experience with both breathhold diving and spearguns.

I heckled Matt for successfully hitting the 2 foot by 5 foot target then pitched a greater challenge, “now hit the base of the tuna’s 2nd dorsal fin”. In a humble acceptance of task he reloaded his Gold 100cm speargun and sunk into position for the 17 foot shot (tip to target). Whoosh… the spear sailed and to my chagrin a new hole was placed just ½ inch away from, ” the base of the tuna’s 2nd dorsal fin”.

Watching Matt demonstrate his skilled marksmanship, coupled to the distinct accuracy of the Andre Speargun was impressive. But is it the arrow or the Indian? That’s where the pool target sessions get practical. Matt’s demo sessions allow potential buyers to pull the rubber, sample a number of guns and come to their own conclusions of design.
